It composed of 27 Commissioners (one for each EU Member State). Each Commissioner is assigned responsibility for specific policy areas by the President
Commissioners do not represent the views of their country of origins
Is headed by a President, nominated by the European Council and formally elected for 5 years by the European Parliament

Is based in Brussels and Luxembourg
Is the European Union’s executive body
It implements and oversees (sorveglia) the decisions of the European Parliament and the Council of the EU.
It draws up the EU’s budget and allocates funding
It ensures that Member States apply EU law correctly
